Video Elements

Overview

KinoViz treats video as a first-class element on the canvas. Drop in a clip, position and scale it like any other element, apply filters and borders, and control exactly when it plays during your animation.

Supported Formats

Video elements accept:

• MP4 (.mp4)
• WebM (.webm)
• GIF (.gif) — animated
• Animated WebP (.webp)

The maximum file size follows your plan's single-import limit — 10 MB on Free, 50 MB on Creator, 100 MB on Pro, and 1 GB on Studio. See Billing & Plans for the full table.

Adding a Video

There are two ways to add a video:

• Upload — Add a video element, then use the Add Video / Replace Video button in the Video panel to pick a file.
• Drag & drop — Drag a video file straight onto the canvas.

Once loaded, the Video panel shows the file name and clip Duration.

Playback Modes

Use the Mode dropdown in the Video panel to choose how the clip loops:

Controlling Playback with Keyframes

In Animate mode the Video panel shows Play, Pause, and Stop buttons. These don't just preview the clip — each one records a keyframe that controls when the video plays as your animation runs on the timeline. This works exactly like the playback controls for 3D models and components.

For example, keyframe a Pause at 2 seconds and a Play at 4 seconds, and the video will freeze between those points while the rest of your animation continues.

The Play / Pause / Stop controls appear only in Animate mode. In Design mode they are hidden so they don't get in the way of layout.

Filters & Borders

Video elements share the same Filters panel as images — brightness, contrast, saturation, hue, blur, grayscale, and noise on all plans, plus advanced effect filters and tone presets on Pro and above. See Materials & Visual Effects for the full list.

The Video panel also offers border controls:

• Radius — Round the corners of the video frame.
• Border — Border thickness.
• Border color — Pick the border color.

Replacing a Video

To swap the clip while keeping all your positioning, filters, borders, and keyframes, click Replace Video in the Video panel and choose a new file. The element keeps its place in the scene — only the source footage changes.

Export

When you export, KinoViz seeks the video frame by frame so each rendered frame shows the correct moment of the clip, respecting your playback mode and any Play / Pause / Stop keyframes.
