Dashboard

A guide to the KinoViz Dashboard — browsing and organizing projects, canvas presets, project actions, folders, project settings, and storage limits by plan.

Overview

The Dashboard is your home base in KinoViz. It lists all your projects, lets you create new ones, and provides tools to organize and manage your work.

Access the dashboard at any time by clicking the KinoViz logo in the top-left corner of the editor, or by navigating to kinoviz.com/studio.

Project Listing

All your projects are displayed as visual thumbnail cards. Each card shows:

  • Thumbnail — A preview frame from the animation.
  • Project name — Click to rename inline.
  • Last modified — Relative timestamp (e.g., "2 hours ago").
  • Canvas size — Shown as width × height in pixels.
  • Duration — Total animation length.

Sorting and Filtering

Use the controls at the top of the dashboard to:

  • Sort by last modified, creation date, or name.
  • Search by project name using the search bar.
  • Filter by folder using the left sidebar (Pro and Studio plans only — see Folders below).

Creating a New Project

Click + New Project to open the canvas setup dialog.

Canvas Presets

After selecting a canvas size, create the project to open the editor.

Project Actions

Hover over any project card to reveal the action menu:

ActionDescription
OpenOpen the project in the editor.
DuplicateCreate an exact copy with all keyframes, assets, and settings preserved. Available on Pro and above.
RenameEdit the project name inline.
Move to folderMove the project into a folder (Pro and Studio plans only).
DeletePermanently delete the project (confirmation required).

Deleting a project is irreversible. All assets stored with the project (uploaded images, 3D models, videos) are also removed.

Folders

Folders are available on Pro and Studio plans only. They help you organize projects by client, campaign, or type.

To create a folder, use the + New Folder option in the left sidebar. To move a project, drag a project card onto a folder or use the project card action menu.

Project Settings

Open a project in the editor and navigate to project settings via the top bar or file menu to change:

  • Project name
  • Canvas dimensions — Resizing scales existing elements proportionally (optional).
  • Background color — The default canvas background.
  • Frame rate — Maximum FPS depends on your plan (Free: 24 fps, Pro/Studio: 60 fps).
  • Duration — Total animation length in seconds.
