How to add a soundtrack to your KinoViz animation — Music mode, uploading your own audio, the free Creative Commons music library with genre matching, and volume and fade controls.
Overview
A great motion piece deserves a soundtrack. KinoViz has a dedicated Music mode where you can drop in your own audio or pull a matching track from a free online library, then tune its volume and fades against your animation.
Entering Music Mode
The top bar has a three-way mode switch: Design / Animate / Music. Click Music to open the soundtrack workspace. On the left is a vinyl-record player panel with your controls; the timeline at the bottom shows the audio waveform alongside a read-only shadow of your animation keyframes, so you can line sound up with motion.
Adding Your Own Audio
Click Upload MP3 to add a track from your computer. The file loads onto the player, and the timeline redraws its waveform. Use the small remove (×) button on the track card to clear it.
The Free Music Library
Don't have a track ready? Click Find Music to search a built-in library of Creative Commons music (powered by Jamendo). Pick a genre, and KinoViz analyzes your animation — its length, energy, and visual mood — to suggest tracks that fit.
Available genres:
- Chillout
- Vlog
- Dreampop
- Lo-fi
- Electronic
- Metal
- Groovy
Or choose Auto and let KinoViz infer the best genre from your animation's pacing and colors.
How it works:
- Select a genre (or Auto) and click Search.
- KinoViz matches tracks to your animation's rhythm, energy, and mood.
- Preview any result by clicking it — click again to pause.
- Click Use to apply a track. It's automatically fitted to your animation, and trimmed to length if the track is longer.
The music library is open to all plans during the launch period. Each track carries its own Creative Commons license — check the license terms if you plan to redistribute your export commercially.
Volume & Fades
Once a track is loaded, the properties panel on the right shows soundtrack controls:

| Fade Out | Seconds of fade-down at the end |
Fades keep the audio from starting or stopping abruptly, and update live as your animation plays and loops.
Matched to Your Animation
When you apply a library track, KinoViz doesn't just attach an audio file — it fits the track to your animation: aligning to the length, skipping any silent lead-in, and applying the fade curve so the music breathes with the motion. Playback stays in sync with the timeline, including when your animation loops.
