Publishing & Sharing

Share KinoViz animations by downloading an export, exporting a .kino source file, or publishing a public link and embed (a Studio-plan feature, coming soon).

Overview

After creating your animation in KinoViz, you can share it in three ways:

  1. Download — Export to a video/image file and distribute it yourself.
  2. Publish link — Generate a public URL anyone can view without a KinoViz account (Studio only).
  3. Embed — Embed your animation in a webpage via iframe (Studio only).

Access sharing from the Share or Export button in the top bar of the editor.

Publish links and embedding are Studio-plan features, and the Studio plan is coming soon. Downloading exports and exporting the .kino source file are available today on the plans described below.

Downloading an Export

To download your animation as a file:

  1. Click Export in the top bar.
  2. Select the format, resolution, and frame rate available to your plan.
  3. Click Start Export.

Exports render locally in your browser and download when finished — keep the tab open during the render.

For a full breakdown of formats, resolutions, and per-plan availability, see Export Formats.

Publish Link (Studio only)

The publish link generates a public URL (/view/:publishToken) where anyone can watch your animation — no KinoViz account required.

Feature gate: publishLink is available on the Studio plan only (coming soon).

Creating a Publish Link

  1. Open the project in the editor.
  2. Click Share in the top bar.
  3. Enable the public link.
  4. Copy the URL and share it.

Viewers can watch the animation but cannot edit, download, or copy the project.

Publish Link Settings

When creating or updating a publish link you can configure:

  • Custom playback dimensions
  • Autoplay on load
  • Loop behavior
  • KinoViz branding visibility

View Quota

Studio plans include 10,000 public views per rolling 30-day window. Views beyond this quota may be throttled. This is a safety cap to protect against runaway traffic, not a purchasable add-on.

Revoking a Publish Link

Disable the public link from the Share dialog. The previous URL becomes invalid immediately.

Embed (Studio only)

Studio plan users can embed their animation directly in any webpage using an <iframe>.

Feature gates: embedInWeb and cdn are available on Studio plan only.

Getting the Embed Code

  1. Open the Share dialog.
  2. Enable the public link (required for embedding).
  3. Copy the <iframe> code provided.
  4. Paste it into your webpage's HTML.

Embedded animations are served via CDN for fast global delivery.

.kino Source Export (Pro+)

Pro and Studio plans can export the full project as a .kino file — a re-importable project archive. This is useful for:

  • Handing off a project to another KinoViz user.
  • Creating a local backup of your project.
  • Archiving a version before making major changes.

Export via File → Export as .kino in the editor.
